We are thrilled to announce that Guru-host.eu is a sponsor of CentOS project.
A new repository with 100Mbit Internet Connection on Dual Core Xeon CPU will be available to all our customers along with European citizens. This will server data much faster than the US repositories. Guru-host customers will be able to update their CentOS servers without calculating traffic (bandwidth) as the server is running inside our core network. CentOS is 100% compatible with Redhat Enterprise Server.

Network Storage up to 8TB per customer

We can now deliver iSCSI storage on our enterprise class Storage Area Network (SAN) which is based on the industry leading Lefthand Networks platform from HP.

F.A.Q related with dedicated servers located in Germany, Greece and UK.

Are you able to configure Reverse DNS for my Ips?
Yes, that is possible for all servers hosted in any of our DC.

Is it possible to get a subnet of IP's in my company's name via RIPE?
Yes, that is standard in Germany. All of your IP's are running on your name in RIPE-DB. This does not apply to UK and Greek servers.

If I need a KVM over IP just for an hour would that be charged and how much?
That will cost 29€ for every 4 hours for servers located in Germany and UK. KVM is not available for servers located in Greece.

Operating System re-install how much it will cost?
29€ if it is during work hours and 115€ if it is not during normal hours.

How long it will take to have the server online?
From a few hours up to 7 working days depending the availability. Within the UK this wont take more than a few hours. Within Germany might take up to 1-2 weeks. Same applies to Greek servers too. Usually setup in Germany wont take more than a day as we usually have servers in stock.

Are you offering any backup service?
100GB on request accessed via ftp for 19€ per month for servers hosted in Germany. For UK and Greek servers backup storage cost based on storage.

Can you install Windows Operating System instead of Linux?
Yes but you will need to send us (upload) an iso image along a proof that you own the license. That needs to be send either via fax at +302118001866 or via email support [at] guru-host.eu.
Only Windows installation comes with an extra one time fee of 39€. For servers hosted in Germany we can provide only Windows 2008 Server for an extra fee of 20€ per month.

What Operating Systems do you support?
We support any Linux distribution. Windows is not supported and you will need to provide us with a license in order to setup your server.
FreeBSD along with OpenBSD are not supported at all. However, we can provide a KVM over IP to perform the installation remotely yourself.

How much do you charge for software work that needs to be done?
Custom work start from 30€ per hour.

How much do you charge for extra IPs?
Servers located within the UK have 8 to 16 IP's for free depending the server model. Servers in Greece have 4 IP's as default. Servers located in Germany include 4 IP's for free. In any case to provide you with all these IP's you need to justify the usage according to RIPE regulations otherwise no extra IP's will be provided.
Especially for servers hosted within Germany the extra cost per IP is like outilined below:

An additional subnet costs 15 Euro/month and then:
a /29 subnet costs 15 Euro once.
a /28 subnet costs 25 Euro once.
a /27 subnet costs 40 Euro once.
a /26 subnet costs 70 Euro once.
a /25 subnet costs 100 Euro once.
a /24 subnet costs 150 Euro once.

How to cancel my server?

For servers located in Germany and Greece you must inform the Billing department at least 30 days before your billing date if you intend to cancel. You can done this by opening a ticket at https://guru-host.eu. For servers hosted in the UK you need to inform us just 5 days before the billing date.

If I want to cancel a dedicated server and switch over to another model higher or lower do I need to pay the setup fee?

For servers in Germany and Greece yes. For servers hosted within the UK no setup fee will be applied.
